A Guide to Palestinian Suffering

Who and what are Palestinians

Palestine was never a country as such in recent history, but a province that was part of the Ottoman Empire and taken over by France and England after WWI, France with the French Mandate of Palestine (today's Syria and Lebanon) and England with theirs (Jordan, Israel, Gaza and the West Bank).
Not all Palestinians and Jews lived in Palestine, many lived all over the Arab world. At one time Jordan's population was 2 thirds Palestinian (not any more due to expulsions).
The Palestinian leadership has not done any favours for its people (like Black September and fighting a proxy war against Israel), however the Palestinian people are treated like second class citizens all over the Arab world :-
In 2001, Palestinians in Lebanon were stripped of the right to own property, or to pass on the property that they already owned to their children – and banned from working as doctors, lawyers, pharmacists or in 20 other professions. Even the Palestinian refugee community in Jordan, historically the most welcoming Arab state, has reason to feel insecure in the face of official threats to revoke their citizenship. The systematic refusal of Arab governments to grant basic human rights to Palestinians who are born and die in their countries – combined with periodic mass expulsions of entire Palestinian communities, like Kuwait expelling 200,000 – recalls the treatment of Jews in medieval Europe.
Middle East culture is very tribal, with various factions like Sunni, Shia, Hashemite, etc. hating each other. Even the Palestinians (who are Shafi'i which is an branch of Sunni) don't like each other much as there was recently a civil war between Hamas who run the Gaza Strip and Fatah who run the West Bank.
I said the Palestinians are used to fight a proxy war against Israel, again their leadership doing the Palestinian people no favours, as Israel has offered them independence 5 times, every time the leadership have refused it. The reason the leadership have done this might have something to do with the billions of dollars in their personal bank accounts, and the vast sums of money given to them in aid and by countries like Iran to fight Israel.
Politics in the Middle East is like a kids playground, one minute they are your friends, the next they are not. For example, Hamas used to be backed by the Hashermite Assad in Syria, until the Palestinians backed their Sunni brothers in the Syrian civil war, then they were backed by Qatar. Today they are backed by the Shia state of Iran, and that is due to Israel and its alliance with the USA who Iran hate (Iran is actually one of the most tolerant states in the Middle East, they even have Jews still living there as well as synagogues https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_synagogues_in_Iran), so by backing Hamas, the Iranians annoy the USA. Shias and Sunnis are pretty much at war with each other all over the Middle East at the moment, so it's doubtful this "friendship" will last.
Due to this tribal hatred, a two state solution is impossible as Hamas (rulers in Gaza) and Fatah (rulers in West Bank) hate each other. The only solution would be a three state solution, however Hamas and Fatah's electoral term ran out years ago, so now they are officially dictators (I did say the Palestinian leadership do no favours for their people), so how will these states be ruled?
Many of the Palestinians did have citizenship in various Arab countries in the Middle East, but have been subsequently stripped of them, thus they are stateless refugees.
There is another spanner in the works, the Palestinians get more aid per head than any other group on the Planet, more than famine hit people in war torn Syria, and that doesn't include the Iran and non-governmental donations, however as is obvious, way more goes to a certain few people than others. Also, to keep up the proxy war against Israel, the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank give over $400 million a year to terrorists as a reward for their acts, so after the leadership get a big slice of pie, there's not much left for the people.

Trump's Middle East Peace Plan

There is a catch 22 with Palestinian aid. Giving aid to the Palestinians will prolong the war with Israel as this is in the interest of the leadership. Cutting aid will undoubtedly hurt the people (and obviously the leadership). Past US administrations have tried peace by giving aid and have always failed, Trump is trying a new approach of cutting it, a tactic that seems to have worked with North Korea, as instead of giving aid when North Korea screamed nuclear war is coming, Trump ignored them.
Will this work with the Palestinians, maybe, but he needs the support of the other countries donating money. I have a few Palestinian friends and they hate their leadership and say the aid should be cut, however the Palestinian people are dependent on aid as their leadership has created no infrastructure or investment into the economy.
Various nations around the world have used Palestinians as pawns, and when their friendship ends with Iran, which it will do, who will they turn to? Not only that, but if the Palestinians are granted statehood, will there be mass expulsions from other countries of their Palestinians, sending them to Gaza and the West Bank, and will the new Palestine be able to cope with such an influx.
I think I agree with my Palestinian friends and to try Trump's plan as all others have just made matters worse for the Palestinian people. I say "I think" because they hate their leadership, and hatred can cause a bias due to a desire to hurt the people you hate, being the Palestinian leadership in their case.
